Make American History in the 250th Salute to Independence Parade

On July 3, 2026, the streets of Philadelphia will come alive with the thunder of drums, the shimmer of brass, and the spirit of liberty as the city hosts the 250th Salute to Independence Parade. It’s a once-in-a-generation celebration marking America’s semiquincentennial. Student marching bands from across the nation and around the world will be part of this incredible event. Your band can join the excitement and make American history in the 250^th Salute to Independence Parade!!

The parade will be one of the largest and most diverse in the country commemorating America’s anniversary. And with the Cradle of Liberty as the setting, it’s sure to be a patriotic spectacle.

About the Parade

The parade will take place on July 3, 2026, and is expected to begin at 11:00 EST. Bands will begin lining up around 8:00 EST.

The 2.4-mile route will start at 5th and Chestnut Streets and travel in front of Independence Hall in the exact steps of our founding fathers. It then turns right onto 6th Street, and then left onto Market Street, ending at Arch and Broad Streets.

About the WaWa Welcome America Festival

The 2026 Salute to Independence Parade is part of the Wawa Welcome America festival, Philadelphia’s Independence Day celebration. The festival features citywide events and activities with a special focus on the semiquincentennial from Juneteenth through July 4^th, 2026.

Bands of all sizes and styles are encouraged to apply. Whether you’re a high school ensemble or a university powerhouse, there’s a place for you in this historic lineup.
