Ready for an epic adventure? Universal Epic Universe is now open at Universal Orlando Resort, giving student and youth groups an entirely new theme park to explore!

Opened on May 22, 2025, Epic Universe is the fourth theme park at Universal Orlando Resort, joining Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure, and Universal Volcano Bay. The park features five immersive worlds: Celestial Park, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ – Ministry of Magic™, SUPER NINTENDO WORLD™, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, and Dark Universe.

For teachers, directors, and group leaders, Epic Universe offers a little bit of everything—from high-speed coasters and interactive gaming experiences to live entertainment, immersive environments, character encounters, and plenty of opportunities for students to explore together.

Let’s take a look at what your group can expect.

What is Universal Epic Universe?

Universal Epic Universe is a gateway into five thrilling worlds that exist at the edge of our imaginations. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ – Ministry of Magic™, SUPER NINTENDO WORLD™, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, Dark Universe and Celestial Park are at the center of this immersive and very visceral journey.

For student groups, that variety is one of the park’s biggest advantages. Whether your students are Harry Potter fans, gamers, thrill seekers, movie lovers, or simply looking for something new, there’s plenty to discover.

At the heart of each are never before experienced rides and shows, incredible themed-dining, character meet and greets, and so much more.

Epic Universe is one of four theme parks at Universal Orlando Resort, joining Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, and Volcano Bay.

Let’s jump in and see what they’re all about!

Celestial Park

Magnificent Celestial Park hearkens back to the days when amusement parks meant lagoons, lush green spaces, and moonlit skies. It’s a place of stunning landscapes, dancing waters, exquisitely themed dining and shopping, and three breathtaking featured attractions.

The Constellation Carousel spins you through the cosmos and Astronomica brings water to life.  Then, the Stardust Racers dual-launch coaster propels you through space as a shooting star!

There are two top-notch dining experiences in Celestial Park as well. The Atlantic is a sit-down surf and turf-style restaurant with an underwater theme. The Blue Dragon is a Pan-Asian restaurant that mimics the wildly popular Beijing location’s offerings.

If your group’s schedule allows you to stay into the evening, keep an eye out for Universal Celestial Goodnight. This nighttime spectacular features music, fountains, color, and fireworks. Entertainment schedules can change, so check the current Universal Orlando schedule when planning your itinerary.

About The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ – Ministry of Magic™

Another Harry Potter world? Yep- it’s the magic of the Epic Universe! The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ – Ministry of Magic™ continues the story as you travel back to 1920s Paris and forward again to the 1990s British Ministry.

You’ll navigate plot twists, turns, and surprises as you explore the next chapter of this world… and experience a few new surprising attractions along the way!

The can’t miss attraction in Ministry of Magic is Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry. It’s a thrilling ride that takes guests into the British Ministry of Magic alongside Harry, Ron, and Hermione.

You can also explore Le Cirque Arcanus – a live show that combines performers, puppetry, and special effects in a story involving fantastic beasts. It’s a nice option for groups that want to build some entertainment into a day filled with rides.

SUPER NINTENDO WORLD™

Gamers may never want to leave this one…

SUPER NINTENDO WORLD™ brings the worlds of Mario and Donkey Kong into an interactive environment where students can do more than just ride.

Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge combines augmented reality, physical sets, and interactive gameplay as riders compete to collect digital coins and throw shells. And over in Donkey Kong Country, Mine-Cart Madness™ sends riders on a wild adventure as they help Donkey Kong protect the Golden Banana.

Students can also use Power-Up Bands to participate in interactive challenges throughout the land.

For a student group, this is one of the areas where teamwork and friendly competition can become part of the experience—something that fits particularly well with groups traveling together.

How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk

In this “dragon utopia,” you’ll soar with dragons and adventure with Vikings! The Isle of Berk is the largest of the worlds, offering a thrilling live stage show, a dragon racing trainer attraction, flying dragons, and a coaster that careens through the park.

Dark Universe

Things take a dark turn when classic Universal monsters are reimagined as part of the shadowy landscape of the Dark Universe.

Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment follows Dr. Victoria Frankenstein as an experiment involving some of Universal’s most famous monsters goes very wrong. And the Curse of the Werewolf is spinning coaster that sends riders racing through the woods while attempting to escape a pack of werewolves.

Don’t forget to check out the Burning Blade Tavern and Das Stakehouse when you’re ready for a… bite 😉

What Should Student Groups Know Before Visiting Epic Universe?

Epic Universe is designed for a wide range of guests, but planning is especially important when you’re responsible for a group of students.

Check Height Requirements

Not every student will be able to ride every attraction. Universal publishes current height requirements and ride-safety information, and several Epic Universe attractions have specific requirements.

Before your trip, consider identifying attractions that your entire group can enjoy together as well as rides that may require students to split into smaller groups.

Build in Time to Explore

Epic Universe isn’t just about checking rides off a list. The themed environments are a huge part of the experience, and students will want time to explore, take photos, interact with the environment, shop, eat, and experience entertainment.

Trying to rush through every attraction can turn an exciting day into a stressful one—especially with a large student group.

Use the Universal Orlando App

Universal’s current park information recommends using the Universal Orlando Resort App for the latest attraction, dining, and park information. For group leaders, having current information at your fingertips can make it easier to adjust plans throughout the day.

Plan for Breaks

Even the most enthusiastic students need a chance to sit down, eat, hydrate, and regroup. Build breaks into your itinerary instead of waiting until everyone is exhausted.

Epic Universe Tickets for Youth & Student Groups

Universal’s current 2026 youth and group ticket materials include Epic Universe options for qualifying youth groups, including stand-alone Epic Universe tickets and multi-day ticket packages that combine Epic Universe with Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure. Ticket options, pricing, blackout dates, and group policies vary, so it’s important to check the current offerings when planning your trip.

For example, Universal’s current 2026 group materials include options such as a one-day Universal Epic Universe ticket as well as multi-day packages that include Epic Universe. Groups of 10 or more can use Universal’s youth group ordering process for eligible ticket products.

Because ticket rules and pricing can change, we recommend working with a student travel planner like Kaleidoscope Adventures to determine which ticket option makes the most sense for your group’s itinerary and budget.

What About Transportation?

Universal Epic Universe is located on Epic Boulevard, separate from Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure. While the parks aren’t far apart, groups should plan transportation thoughtfully to maximize park time.

For guests staying at Universal Orlando Resort hotels, complimentary bus transportation is available between the resort hotels, Universal Epic Universe, the other Universal theme parks, and CityWalk. Transportation schedules and availability can vary, so it’s always a good idea to check the latest information before your visit.

For groups arriving by motorcoach, Universal currently lists RV/Bus Parking at Universal Epic Universe. The park’s official parking information lists a designated bus parking option. Designated drop-off and pick-up areas are also available for your student groups.
