Student Travel to Orlando: Whats New at Walt Disney World and Universal Studios Florida

senior 12th grade trips to Disney World

Having the best and most exciting theme parks in the world, Orlando year after year reaps the award/distinction of being the number one destination for student groups from 8th grade to 12th grade traveling in the U.S. One of the reasons why Orlando continually achieves this status is that its theme parks keep improving their offerings.

Walt Disney World continually improves their music festivals, performance programs as well as their Youth Education Series (Y.E.S.) programs which now offer hands-on courses to student groups who want to increase their learning skills in arts and humanities, earth sciences, natural sciences and leadership/careers. Also, Disneys Magic Kingdom Park has begun expansion that will nearly double the size of Fantasyland. This will be completed in phases with most new attractions opening in 2013. Student travel to Orlandos Walt Disney World is educational, fun and ever-changing.

Universal Studios Florida has recently improved its offerings via new attractions. Recently, Universals Islands of Adventure opened The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. This incredible park is a re-creation of the Harry Potter movie(s). The park includes replicas of Hogwarts (the school) and Hogsmeade (the village). Students can order food and drinks at Three Broomsticks Restaurant and the Hogs Head Pub and shop in various stores with wizarding themes. The main attraction is entitled Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, a ride that augments various versions of the movie that places students squarely within Harry Potters experiences at Hogwarts. Student groups will also want to try the Dragon Challenge and Flight of the Hippogriff, two rollercoasters that closely follow the theme of the Harry Potter movies. This is a must-see for student trips to Orlando!

Universals other theme park, Universal Studios, recently opened a new rollercoaster called Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit. This heart pounding 65 mph rollercoaster soars up to 17 stories, dives into loops, screams through buildings and twists and turns while riders experience an extreme adrenaline rush. Students also get to choose their own soundtrack including pop, disco, rap, hip hop, classic rock, heavy metal, country, or electronic music before boarding. With digital cameras installed on board student groups will get to see themselves on video as they ride the rollercoaster. When booking your student tour to Orlando, be sure to include Universal Studios on your itinerary.
