San Francisco Palace of Fine Arts
San Francisco has a wealth of life, space and earth scientific resources awaiting your group. Its first-class science museums, zoo, and aquarium will meet and exceed your classroom curriculum. Your group will attend some of the best science museums in the country and engage in hands-on learning activities. Designed to enhance your science curriculum and objectives, our San Francisco Science Tour will help your students gain a deeper understanding of both earth and life sciences. Let the team at Kaleidoscope Adventures design a custom San Francisco Science Tour for your group.
The San Francisco Science Tour has many options from which to choose including the following:
California Academy of Sciences
The California Academy of Sciences is a multifaceted scientific institution that brings the whole universe under one roof – an aquarium, a planetarium, a natural science and history museum and more! The 412,000 square foot structure is not only physically impressive, but it just may be the greenest museum on the planet, with a 2 _ acre Living Roof, an expansive solar canopy, an extensive water reclamation system, and walls insulated with recycled blue jeans. The academy has many exciting venues, exhibits and animals including the deepest coral reef exhibit in the world, a 4-story tropical rainforest, a towering T-Rex skeleton, a colony of African penguins and a fully-immersive digital screen by which to fly to the farthest reaches of the Universe. The Academy holds educational workshops for both teachers and students. Your group can experience educational tours for life, space and earth sciences. Exploratorium
Housed within the walls of San Francisco’s landmark Palace of Fine Arts, the Exploratorium is a collage of over 650 interactive exhibits in the areas of science, art, and human perception. The Exploratorium is both a museum and a hands-on educational center designed to spark curiosity. It provides access to, and information about, science, nature, art, and technology. San Francisco Zoo
The San Francisco Zoo’s highest priority is both education and connecting people with animals. We provide a greater appreciation of wildlife around us by creating naturalistic new habitats, providing animals with a vast array of stimuli and behavioral enrichment opportunities, and providing unique opportunities for the public to experience wildlife through interactive activities and up close animal encounters. The zoo is thriving with over 250 species for your group to enjoy.
Zeum
San Francisco’s Zeum is a hands-on arts and technology studio where student groups can create their own audio, video and animation projects. Photo Courtesy of San Francisco Travel.
