Hawaii is one of the finest places in the world to study science. Did you know that there are 13 different biomes/climatic zones on planet earth? Hawaii has 11 out of the 13! From marine biology to volcanoes, from astronomy to botany, Hawaii is an unbelievable destination. Oh, and yes, the beaches are great too!
Designed to enhance your science curriculum and objectives, our Hawaii Science tour will help your students gain a deeper understanding of earth, space and life sciences. Let the team at Kaleidoscope Adventures design a custom Hawaii Science Tour for your group.

The Hawaii Science Tour has many options from which to choose including the following:

Fun Learning Marine Biology

Students will participate in a Marine Biology Workshop where they will learn about Hawaii’s delicate Coral Reef System and Tropical Fish Species found in Hawaiian Waters. They will then take a boat trip to one of Hawaii’s most pristine reefs to snorkel and observe corals and tropical fish in their natural habitats.

Fun Learning Astronomy

Hawaii is further from any other body of land in the world which makes it ideal for studying the Stars in the Night Sky. For this workshop, students are treated to pizza while experiencing a hands-on Astronomy Workshop. Everyone is given descriptions of stars, planets, and constellations while viewing them through an 18 inch-telescope with descriptions and explanations from one of Hawaii’s most enthusiastic and knowledgeable Astronomers.

Fun Learning Botany & Birds

Hawaii is home to numerous tree, plant and birds species. A Rainforest Waterfall Hiking Adventure is not only fascinating, but incorporates a fun and learning experience of all three. Traveling to the windward side of the island your naturalist guide will discuss different types of species they will encounter and then actually hike in the forest observing and photographing species in their natural environment.

Diamondhead Volcanic Crater

The most famous volcanic crater in the world is Diamond Head, located on the South-east Coast of O’ahu at the end of Waikiki overlooking the Pacific Ocean. It was originally named Laeahi by the ancient Hawaiians. The name meant “brow of the tuna” and looking at the silhouette of the crater from Waikiki, you can see the resemblance. Groups can hike the trail leading to the top of the crater. There are two sets of stairs, one with 99 steps and the other, 76 steps. There is also a 225-foot unlit tunnel. The hike is classified as easy to moderate in exertion but is certainly worth the breathtaking, unparalleled view of the entire west side of the island, from Waikiki to Koki Head. Honolulu Zoo

The Honolulu Zoo is the principal zoological institution of research in Hawaii. It is the only zoo in the United States to be established by grants made by a sovereign monarch. Built on part of a 300 acre royal park in Waikiki known as Queen Kapiolani Park, the Honolulu Zoo now features over 1,230 animals in specially designed habitats. Waikiki Aquarium

Being designated as the Coastal Ecosystem Learning Center for the Pacific Island Region, this aquarium is home to 3,500 marine animals representing more than 500 species of aquatic animals and plants. The Waikiki Aquarium is located next to a living coral reef, which will bring your group face-to-fin with colorful tropical fish, reef sharks, living corals, endangered Hawaiian monk seals, and more!
