OrlandoFest – Festival Director
We are currently seeking a Festival Director for the premiere music festival in Orlando, Florida, who will promote and oversee all operations, events and productions of OrlandoFest.
Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, maintaining and developing relationships with clients, vendors and the Universal Orlando Resort. Candidate will do so by initiating phone, e-mail, and school/office visits with clients to increase relationships and sales. Leading up to event, candidate will communicate directly with clients about specific needs for performance, as well as securing specific equipment and other requirements for performing groups. Position is responsible for assigning and overseeing all site coordinators, adjudicators and clinicians. This position will derive all festival and event schedules, as well as securing festival and event venues throughout the year. The Festival Director serves as the event host, meeting all group leaders upon arrival at festival site, answering questions and solving challenges throughout the event, and serves as Master of Ceremonies for each award ceremony.
Candidates should hold at least a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in music or music education, as well as specialized experience in and knowledge of performing bands, choirs and orchestras. Experience in music education or performance is preferred as well as knowledge of student group travel. Candidate must also possess strong organization and time management skills, as well as scheduling flexibility.
The Festival Director may be required to work in an office environment, social & conference settings, event settings and/or remotely. This position will also require you to spend time on your feet for extended periods of time and with a team in setting up and preparing for events. 10-20% travel will be required.
